The Motorcoach Census looks at passenger traffic, vehicle count, mileage, demographics and other key data in the U.S. and Canada.

Comparisons of Energy Use and Emissions 2008

This comprehensive study, produced by respected research firm MJ Bradley and Associates, is the first study to create a comparison between the motorcoach industry and other mass transportation modes. Data included was culled from the 2007 Motorcoach Census, the Federal Transit Administration, the Department of Transportation, and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics.

The Nation's Public Transportation Network: Connecting People and Communities

This pocket-sized, eight-panel fact card, produced by ABA in conjunction with the American Public Transportation Association and The Community Transportation Association of America, focuses on areas of common ground among the three groups, including opportunities for public-private partnerships and intermodal connectivity.

Motorcoaches are the safest form of surface transportation. But the industry is always working to make the safest even safer. The ABA Foundation signed on with Nathan Associates, a well-known economic impact research firm based in Arlington, Virginia to prepare a report that illustrates to policymakers, the media and consumers the positive impact the motorcoach tourism and travel industry has on society.

Economic Impact Studies of Motorcoach Destinations

These reports, funded by the individual destinations, are developed by research expert John Dunham with Guerilla Economics. This analysis builds on previous ABA/George Washington University research measuring the economic impact of motorcoach tours on Washington, New York City, Lancaster, PA, and Chicago, Cleveland and Pigeon Forge, TN. Data collected includes bus tour frequency, duration, type of accommodations, local attractions, tour size, and average price of package.

Commercial Bus Emissions Characterization & Idle Reduction
